Chapter 4 Integrals

Integrals are used throughout engineering and industry to solve a wide variety of applied problems such as: the amount of work necessary to lift a 50 ton satellite, the total pressure on the Hoover dam, the probability that you will live to an age between 69 and 71, the volume formulae for various objects, the weight of objects that do not have uniform density, the work required to pump water out of a 55 gallon drum and the area of an oil spill.
